What is Rotary Leadership Institute?
It is a series of fast-paced, interactive courses offered to refine a Rotarian's leadership skills. Courses are fun, topical, interactive, and geared toward busy business and professional people who want to be more effective leaders in Rotary and in their professional careers. Courses are offered at basic, intermediate, advanced and graduate levels. Please remember courses must be taken sequentially
What are the Courses?
RLI sessions must be taken in sequential order. First is Part 1, then Part 2, then Part 3, then Graduate. If you have already taken the Graduate Program you may sign up again as the Graduate program has different topics every year.- this year the Graduate Programs include Diversity in Rotary and Public Speaking.

What teaching methods are used?
The Institute believes in course sessions with as much discussion and participation as possible. Lectures are limited. Everyone participates during sessions. A course workbook containing an Institute Manual, session program agendas, faculty biographies and course outlines and materials, is provided to each attendee.
Who are the faculty?
Faculty for the institute are drawn from all areas of the member districts and from outside the member districts. Many are present and past RI directors, present and past district governors, successful past presidents and those with experience in special areas. Our own District Governor Hal is a faculty member. Each new faculty member must attend an initial full day training program and various reorientation programs periodically. The results of evaluations help the Institute to improve the course content and instruction.
Why do we need a Leadership Institute?
Rotary needs a constant influx of leadership as club officers, etc. since they change every year. It is difficult at the club level to learn enough about the exciting world of Rotary with its 1.2 million members throughout the world. Furthermore, leadership skills in voluntary organizations are often different from business leadership skills. It is important that club leaders have every opportunity for education because the success or failure of our clubs depends in large part on the quality of their leaders.
